環保署就關於綜合廢物處理設施第一期的不實謠言作出嚴正聲明

環境保護署（環保署）今日（十月二十八日）就網上流傳關於綜合廢物處理設施第一期（I.PARK1）十月二十六日火警事故的謠言，作出聲明如下： 就十月二十六日在I.PARK1發生的火警事故，初步資料顯示起火位置在焚化大樓第三模組範圍屋頂。該處尚有收尾工程進行中，初步懷疑有建築材料起火，而非由焚化爐運作或儲存的廢物引起。環保署會聯同警方、消防處及勞工處調查起火原因，並已要求承辦商在事發的七日內提交事故報告。與此同時，環保署正評估損毀情況及對設施及處理量的影響，並會督促承建商盡速進行維修。 I.PARK1自昨天起暫停接收廢物，環保署已作出協調，延長轄下新界西堆填區擴建部分的運作時間，原本運往I.PARK1的廢物因而已轉往該堆填區處置，本港整體廢物處理運作如常。署方會在全面檢查設施的結構及各主要系統，並確定適合重新啓動及安全運作後，盡快恢復接收廢物。 環保署嚴正指出，網上謠言中有關「爐組設計缺陷」、「興建中模組塌下」等指稱毫無根據，純屬憑空捏造。署方呼籲市民切勿誤信及轉發有關的虛假信息。
