50,000 Net New Winnipeg Jobs Since October 2022

Since Mayor Gillingham and the current Council were elected in October 2022, Winnipeg’s economy added 50,000 new jobs – more than in any prior Council term on record. This Council term marks the first time that the Winnipeg CMA has an employed workforce of over half a million people. Despite the loss of several beloved businesses and challenges for storefront retail, StatsCan tracked over 500 net new businesses in Winnipeg since the 2022 election.
