Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on St Johns Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 10:16 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey residence in the 300 block of St Johns Avenue. When crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure. Firefighters began with a defensive attack and later transitioned to an interior attack when conditions allowed. They declared the fire under control at 11:01 p.m. All occupants evacuated the structure before the arrival of WFPS crews. Paramedics assessed and treated three people at the scene before transporting them to hospital. One person was in critical condition, while two were in unstable condition. The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
