UN Climate Conference in Türkiye seeks ways to narrow gap between targets and climate actions

The most important aim of the conference is to accelerate the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement. Reaching the targets requires even faster emission reductions, more funding and closer international cooperation. The aim for Finland and the EU is to promote actions that will support the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement and strengthen the impact of international climate actions. The present climate commitments made by states are not enough to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. “A stable climate is the foundation of comprehensive security, economic growth, security of supply and wellbeing. The transition away from fossil fuels will strengthen energy security, reduce dependencies and create new investments and jobs,” Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala says.
