女子非法進口乾魚翅被判入獄10個月（附圖）

一名二十九歲中國籍女子因走私乾魚翅入境香港，違反《保護瀕危動植物物種條例》（第586章）（《條例》），今日（十月十六日）在區域法院被裁定罪名成立，判處監禁10個月。 漁農自然護理署（漁護署）發言人表示，該名旅客於今年三月二十二日從巴西經埃塞俄比亞抵達香港國際機場。海關人員檢查其行李時，發現內藏一批懷疑受管制乾魚翅。漁護署人員隨後到場檢驗，確定為受管制乾魚翅，共重約52公斤，估計市價約20萬元。漁護署遂以非法進口瀕危物種檢控該名女子。該女子今日在區域法院被判罪名成立，法庭以15個月為量刑起點，考慮被告認罪扣減三分之一刑期，最終判處監禁10個月。 部份鯊魚及鰩魚屬《瀕危野生動植物種國際貿易公約》附錄的列明物種，在本港受《條例》所管制。任何人如非按照《條例》規定進出口或管有瀕危物種均屬違法。一經定罪，最高可被判罰款1,000萬元及監禁10年，有關物品亦會被充公。 發言人說：「政府一向致力保護瀕危物種，漁護署和香港海關會保持警覺，繼續監察及打擊涉及瀕危物種的違法行為。」 市民如發現懷疑違例情況，請致電1823向漁護署舉報。有關本港對瀕危物種的管制，可瀏覽本署網頁 www.cites.hk 。
