Eritrea: Commemoration of Golden Jubilee of Revolution School

Eritrean nationals in Australia and New Zealand have colorfully celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of the Revolution School with various programs. The event, organized in collaboration with former students of the school and the Eritrean community in Victoria, was held in Melbourne on 19 September. It featured a photo exhibition reflecting the history of the school, as well as cultural and artistic presentations. Congratulating the Eritrean people in general and the school’s former students, teachers and guardians in particular, Mr. Indrias Abraham, Eritrea’s Consul General in Australia, said that the EPLF’s decision to establish the Revolution School in 1976 attests to its farsighted vision. Addressing the gathering virtually, Mr. Petros Hailemariam, Director General of Research and Human Resources Development and one of the founders of the school, gave an extensive briefing on the victories achieved and challenges encountered over the past 50 years. At the event, former students of the school also spoke about the care they had received from the EPLF in general and from their teachers and guardians in particular.
