Nederlanders houden hun financiën lang niet altijd actief tegen het licht. Veel mensen weten bijvoorbeeld niet of zij bepaalde verzekeringen hebben, hoe hun pensioen is geregeld of welke mogelijkheden hun betaalrekening biedt. Tegelijkertijd doet AI zijn intrede bij financiële keuzes: één op de zeven Nederlanders gebruikte het afgelopen jaar een AI-tool voor hulp bij financiële zaken. Gebruikers en niet-gebruikers verschillen daarbij duidelijk in hun oordeel over de betrouwbaarheid van financiële informatie en advies van AI. Dat blijkt uit de Consumentenmonitor 2026 van de Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM).
