Following is the video speech by the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, at the Youth Development Summit 2026 today (November 7): Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, Good morning. A very warm welcome to Hong Kong and the third edition of the Youth Development Summit - our flagship event for international youth exchange. This year, we're joined by officials, youth experts and young leaders from the Chinese Mainland and around the world. Your presence carries a clear message. When young people are empowered, communities are strengthened. And when communities are strengthened, the world moves forward. That is precisely what this year's Summit theme calls on us to achieve. This year's theme, "Pioneering New Horizons, Venturing into the Future", speaks to our shared mission - to connect minds, widen horizons, and shape solutions for tomorrow. We're working with the youth of Hong Kong to do exactly that.
