President Meloni’s video message to the Legacoop Cooperative Economy Biennale

Dear President Gamberini, I am truly sorry not to have managed to accept Legacoop’s invitation to join you in Milan today, but I nevertheless wanted to send you my greetings and contribution to your working sessions. After all, you are about to mark a historic milestone: your first 140 years. I would like to join in offering you my congratulations on this occasion, as well as thanking you on behalf of the Government for what you represent for this nation. You are a pillar of Italy’s system of cooperatives – that uniquely Italian model which is recognised and protected by our Constitution and which combines free enterprise and the principle of equality, as President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella also highlighted. Cooperatives show that it is possible to do business in a human-centred way, focusing on quality work and the common good. Cooperatives helped build the Italy we know today, and every day they continue to play their part in creating shared value.
