President Meloni’s video message to the 8th National INT Congress

Dear President Alemanno, dear friends, The 8th congress you are holding today marks a very important milestone along your journey and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the valuable work that you do. Tax professionals are allies of households and businesses, helping citizens to navigate tax regulations and flagging up to the institutions what works and what instead requires improvement. We have also been able to count on your cooperation, for example in drawing up the tax reform. Italy had been waiting for this reform for more than fifty years and it has three key objectives: cutting taxes, developing a simpler tax system and rebuilding the relationship between the State and taxpayers. The huge amount of reorganisation and simplification work we have carried out to redesign the tax system goes precisely in this direction: we have gone from 444 different legislative measures to 8 consolidated laws. This is a vital undertaking, providing greater clarity for those who work, invest and create jobs.
