Two charged in connection with discovery of human remains

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man and woman in relation to a suspicious death investigation following the discovery of human remains in Skyview Ranch. At around 8:15 a.m., yesterday, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Skyview Ranch Road N.E., to conduct a welfare check. It is believed that during a search of the residence, officers located evidence consistent with human remains. As a result of the investigation, we have charged Michael Lee, 49, and Helen Lee, 50, with indignity to a dead body. Both individuals have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to next appear in court on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026. We are in the process of confirming the identity of the remains and the circumstances of their death. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026. The victim’s name will be released once officially identified by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Investigators remain at the residence today, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, and are conducting additional searches of the property and surrounding area as part of the ongoing investigation.
