Minister of Local and Regional Government to attend ministerial meetings on digital sovereignty and AI in Tallinn and Copenhagen

In Tallinn, Minister Ikonen will participate in the Tallinn Digital Summit. The event brings together leaders from governments, technology companies and innovation ecosystems to discuss how to navigate the development and governance of AI responsibly. Minister Ikonen will participate in a panel discussion on the impact of AI on geopolitical relationships and the opportunities AI offers to small countries. The visit will also include a ministerial lunch hosted by Estonia’s Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs Liisa-Ly Pakosta . In Copenhagen, Minister Ikonen will attend a meeting of Nordic and Baltic ministers for digitalisation (MR-Digital). Her agenda also includes a high-level forum discussion on Nordic-Baltic AI cooperation at the New Nordics AI joint centre for artificial intelligence. “Digital sovereignty and the application of advances in AI in public administration are highly topical issues.
