Minister Barbara Creecy assess progress made on R52 community development project as part of October Transport Month, 9 Oct Vuyelwa Thu, 10/08/2026 - 13:34 08 Oct 2026 Members of the media are invited to join the Minister of Transport, Ms Barbara Creecy together with officials from the North West Provincial Government, Kgetlengrivier Local Municipality and the South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL), on a site inspection of the R52 Community Development Project in Koster, North West Province, as part of October Transport Month activities. The visit will provide an opportunity to assess progress made on the project and engage with stakeholders involved in its implementation. The R52 national road is a community development project by SANRAL. SANRAL's community development projects primarily target local SMMEs, providing training and skills development opportunities to enable participation in road construction projects. The programme focuses on training and certification at NQF Levels 2, 3 and 4, while creating much-needed employment opportunities within local communities.
