Deputy Minister Narend Singh leads South African delegation at COP12 in Dar es Salaam, 6 to 9 Oct Vuyelwa Thu, 10/08/2026 - 08:54 07 Oct 2026 The Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Mr Narend Singh is leading the South African delegation at the 12th Conference of the Parties (COP12), taking place from 06 to 09 October 2026 in Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania. COP12 is convened under the theme: “Towards Sustainable Blue Economy in the Western Indian Ocean Region for People and Nature: A Journey of 40 Years.” As part of the programme, the Deputy Minister will on Thursday, 08 October 2026, participate in the Ministerial Dialogues commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Convention. The discussions will focus on sustainable blue economy investments, regional cooperation in managing shared resources, and strengthening capacity across the Western Indian Ocean region.
