The ceremony will be hosted under the theme Honouring O.R Tambo's legacy: Inspiring Active Citizenship and Responsible Voting. The theme reflects the enduring relevance of Oliver Reginald Tambo's lifelong commitment to democracy, justice, equality, ethical leadership, and the empowerment of all South Africans to participate meaningfully in shaping the future of the nation. The 2026 ceremony seeks to honour O.R Tambo's extraordinary contribution by encouraging all young people, to embrace their civic responsibilities through active participation in the democratic process.
