FEMA Announces More Than $10 Million for South Carolina Recovery

FEMA Announces More Than $10 Million for South Carolina Recovery ATLANTA — FEMA is awarding more than $10 million to South Carolina, funding five projects that will accelerate disaster recovery in communities and support disaster survivors. The state will receive more than $3.3 million through FEMA’s Public Assistance program, which provides federal reimbursement to communities after a disaster for debris removal, emergency protective measures to reduce or eliminate disaster impacts, and to repair or rebuild damaged critical infrastructure. Public Assistance grants announced today include: More than $1.9 million to the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism for debris removal operations. More than $569,000 to Conway Hospital for disaster management costs. More than $516,000 to the South Carolinda Department of Transportation for disaster management costs.
