Puerto Rico National Guard joins fifth annual "Pink Day" breast cancer awareness walk through Guaynabo

Puerto Rico National Guard leadership joined Susan G. Komen Puerto Rico’s “Pink Day” breast cancer awareness walk through a commercial district in Guaynabo on Oct. 16, 2026, marking the event’s fourth year. Brig. Gen. Carlos G. Torres Febus, land component commander for the Puerto Rico Army National Guard, addressed participants before the walk, calling the cause personal for the Guard given that members of its nearly 8,000-strong force are affected by cancer each year. Lybia Grisselle Vientós, president of Komen’s Puerto Rico board of directors, also attended.
