Bilateral Staffs Conclude Norfolk-Based Command Post Exercise, Laying Groundwork for Frontier Sentinel 2027
NORFOLK, Va. (Oct. 30, 2026) – Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard staff officers from the United States and Canada successfully concluded the Frontier Sentinel 2026 (FS26) Command Post Exercise (CPX) on Oct. 30, completing five days of intensive, simulated operations designed to strengthen bilateral defenses. Hosted in Norfolk from Oct. 26 to 30, the CPX served as a dedicated training event for the Atlantic Maritime Security Coalition (AMSC). Rather than deploying ships and aircraft, the exercise brought together key staff, planners and decisionmakers from U.S. 2nd Fleet, U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area, Canada’s Joint Task Force Atlantic, and the Canadian Coast Guard to work through complex security problems in a simulated, synthetic environment.
