BS27-1: Defending the base at every level

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan — U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 18th Wing were armed with M-4 carbine rifles and tasked to man defensive firing positions outside their work centers during Exercise Beverly Sword 27-1 at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Oct. 28, 2026. During the exercise, Airmen across the installation fortified local facility security, establishing an immediate defense coverage that allows 18th Security Forces Squadron to remain mobile and maintain rapid response capabilities across the base.
