Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance (CFE-DMHA) Field Training Exercise in Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea

U.S. and international disaster response subject matter experts partnered with Papua New Guinea government agencies, military personnel and industry partners during a Center for Excellence in Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance Field Training Exercise in Lae, Papua New Guinea, Aug. 10-14, 2026. Participants conducted hands-on training in search and extraction, medical response, site security, camp management and oil spill response at the Port of Lae and Igam Barracks, strengthening practical disaster response capabilities and coordination among participating organizations.
