Military police Soldier finds balance in the National Guard
U.S. Army Sgt. Zachary Fielitz, assigned to the 109th Military Police Battalion, supports Law Enforcement Weapons Training and Qualification at Biedrusko Military Training Area, Poland, Sept. 11, 2026. After serving three years on active duty as an infantryman, Fielitz returned to civilian life before joining the North Carolina Army National Guard, where he balances military service with managing two family-owned restaurants. Recently promoted to sergeant, Fielitz said the National Guard provides a balance between civilian life and continued service while giving him a renewed sense of purpose.
