Empowering young people to take the lead on climate action john.day Thu 22/10/2026 4:48pm 22 October 2026 Sustainability We're once again supporting its Sustainable Student Programme, giving any young people in years 10 to 12 (age 14 to 17) the opportunity to explore climate change, develop green skills and lead environmental initiatives in their schools or, if they’re home-schooled, through their own projects. Applications are open now. Young people who are passionate about the environment are encouraged to apply for this free programme. Applications must be submitted by 5pm on Saturday 7 November 2026. Find out more and apply now . Following the success of the previous programme, our Sustainability Team is supporting the initiative for a second time. It brings together students from across Central Bedfordshire to learn from experts, take part in practical workshops and develop their own sustainability projects. The programme supports our refreshed Sustainability Plan. Partner organisations include the University of Bedfordshire, Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity, Greensand Trust, Shuttleworth Trust, Wildlife Trust and Whipsnade Zoo.
