Subject to future planning and legal agreements, the Council has also agreed in principle to a Community Asset Transfer of the green space to Sandy Town Council, helping to secure its long-term future for recreation, community events, biodiversity improvements and enhanced walking and cycling connections. The decision reflects extensive engagement and consultation, which showed strong local support for retaining community access to the site's open space while also progressing plans for a new care home alongside complementary community facilities, creating a site that serves both residents requiring care and the wider community.
