Governor Abbott Highlights Texas Manufacturing Week In Beaumont Governor Greg Abbott today joined manufacturing and business leaders for a roundtable discussion on Texas’ economy followed by a press conference to highlight Manufacturing Week in Texas. “Texas wants to rank number one as the most affordable state in the United States,” said Governor Abbott. “Our mission now is to put Texas on that pathway by slashing property taxes, lowering the cost of health care and insurance, making housing more affordable, and cutting the cost of college.” During his remarks, Governor Abbott celebrated the strength of Texas’ manufacturing sector and the role it plays in fueling innovation, driving economic growth, and creating new jobs in communities across Texas.
