Tarrant County Backs Governor Abbott’s Proposal To Deliver Lasting Property Tax Relief For Texans Governor Greg Abbott today joined Tarrant County officials to highlight his property tax reform legislative proposal to keep Texas affordable. Last week, Tarrant County adopted a resolution endorsing the Governor’s agenda to reform Texas’ property tax system that will help lower costs for Texans. “It is very achievable for jurisdictions across the entire state to do exactly what Tarrant County has done,” said Governor Abbott. “And that is to cut property taxes while fully funding operations in a robust, growing city like Fort Worth and county like Tarrant County.” During his remarks, Governor Abbott declared that local governments must live within their means, just as families and the State of Texas do.
