National culture indicators, fourth quarter 2025 and first quarter 2026
Real gross domestic product (GDP) for the culture and sport sectors in Canada grew by 0.4% in the first quarter of 2026, slightly slower than the 0.6% growth in the fourth quarter of 2025. On a nominal basis, GDP for the culture and sport sectors increased 0.9% in the first quarter of 2026, following a 1.8% increase in the previous quarter.
