Provisional poverty estimates, 2025

Canada's national poverty rate for 2025 is projected to be 11.2%, relatively unchanged from the official national poverty rate in 2024 (11.0%). This projection is consistent with the broader set of economic indicators currently available for 2025. Although the lowest-income households (bottom 20% of the income distribution) increased their average disposable income at a below-average pace in 2025 (+2.6% versus +3.8% for all households), they still kept pace with the 2025 annual average inflation rate (+2.1%).
