Governor Kehoe Announces Two Judicial Appointments Gabrielle.Picard Thu, 10/01/2026 - 16:17 October 1, 2026 Jefferson City Today, Governor Mike Kehoe announced two judicial appointments to the 16 th and 29 th Judicial Circuits. Ashley Garrett , of Lee’s Summit, was appointed as an Associate Circuit Judge for Jackson County in the 16 th Judicial Circuit . Ms. Garrett is a senior attorney at Sanders, Warren and Russell, LLP. She previously served as an assistant public defender in the Missouri Public Defender System and as deputy county counselor for Jackson County. She remains active in her community through her involvement with the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation's Student Law Academy, where she serves as a committee member and mentor. She is also a 20‑year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Clark Atlanta University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law. Garrett will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Susan E. Long. Troy Salchow , of Carl Junction, was appointed as a Circuit Judge for Jasper County in the 29 th Judicial Circuit .
