El viceconsejero de Juventud y Reto Demográfico, Xabier Legarreta, ha clausurado el I Congreso Internacional de Derecho de Extranjería celebrado ayer y hoy en el Palacio Euskalduna de Bilbao. "Hablar de extranjería, acogida e integración es hablar de normas y procedimientos, pero también es hablar de personas. Esa doble dimensión obliga a trabajar con rigor. Rigor jurídico para garantizar derechos y obligaciones. Rigor administrativo para aplicar correctamente los procedimientos y rigor en el debate público para evitar simplificaciones que no ayudan a comprender una realidad compleja. Ese es el espíritu con el que cerremos hoy este Congreso" ha concluido Xabier Legarreta. Las ideas principales recogidas como conclusión general en el I Congreso Internacional de Derecho de Extranjería, Acogida e Inmigración muestran que una política migratoria sólida no se define únicamente por el control de entradas ni por la aprobación de nuevas normas.
