EIB supports Poland’s energy security with new loan to nuclear research institute and hydropower advisory agreement

The European Investment Bank (EIB) signed two new agreements to advance Poland’s energy security and economic competitiveness. The PLN 85 million (ca. €20 million) financing for National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) will support the construction of world-class scientific infrastructure at Poland’s only nuclear research reactor. Separately, EIB Advisory launched cooperation with Wody Polskie to develop the state water holding’s hydropower capacity, in particular in two southern regions traditionally reliant on fossil fuel production.
