Durante la clausura del Foro Global de Alto Nivel sobre la Transición Energética, celebrado en el marco de la XI Semana de la Energía , el ministro de Energía y Minas, Joel Santos , destacó la necesidad de impulsar una respuesta coordinada entre los países del Caribe , basada en la investigación científica , la viabilidad económica y la protección ambiental , que permita aprovechar responsablemente esta macroalga en materia de energía y convertir el desafío que representa en una oportunidad para la economía circular y el desarrollo sostenible .
