Europäisches Chip-Gesetz 2.0 – Europa braucht mehr Tempo und weniger Bürokratie bei der Chip-Förderung

(Galway/Irland, 6. Oktober 2026) Der sächsische Berichterstatter für den Europäischen Ausschuss der Regionen (AdR), Staatsminister a. D. Thomas Schmidt, MdL, brachte heute in der AdR-Fachkommission für Wirtschaftspolitik (ECON) seine Stellungnahme zum »European Chips Act 2.0« (ECA 2.0) ein. Der »European Chips Act 2.0« ist Teil einer europäischen Strategie für mehr digitale Souveränität der EU – am 4. Juni 2026 hatte ihn die Europäische Kommission veröffentlicht. Regionale Stärken nutzen um Exzellenz zu fördern »Der European Chips Act 2.0 entscheidet darüber, ob Europa im globalen Wettlauf um Schlüsseltechnologien bestehen kann oder in dauerhafte Abhängigkeiten gerät«, erklärte Berichterstatter Thomas Schmidt während der Sitzung in Galway/Irland und ergänzte: »Die europäische Souveränität können wir befördern, indem wir die realen Stärken unserer regionalen Halbleiter-Ökosysteme nutzen und ausbauen sowie Europas Lücken schließen – vom Chipdesign über die Fertigung bis hin zum fortschrittlichen Packaging.« Der Entwurf für den »European Chips Act 2.0« setzt auf eine nachfrageorientierte Förderung, die auch ausgereifte und spezialisierte Technologieknoten einbezieht, welche von der eu
