Praise for children’s services – latest Ofsted visit
A watchdog has praised the “high quality support” offered to children and young people supported by the City of London Corporation’s children’s services. Ofsted inspectors found support for children and families has been “sustained and improved” since its last “outstanding” rating was awarded in November 2024. In what it calls a ‘focused visit’, the watchdog explored support for children affected by domestic abuse, exploitation and youth violence. Inspectors praised the City Corporation’s “strong and well-established culture of child-focused practice” and highlighted its “committed leadership”. Meanwhile, Ofsted also noted “strengthened practice and increased practitioner confidence” in areas previously identified for improvement, including domestic abuse, exploitation and youth violence.
