Police investigate suspicious death
Our Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning. On Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, at approximately 12:55 a.m., we were called to the 1100 block of Cornerstone Boulevard N.E. for reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers located one man who was deceased. Police continue to investigate the death. At this time, this shooting is believed to be targeted, however, nobody is in custody. An autopsy will be conducted by The Office of The Chief Medical Examiner in the coming days. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
