Need to identity suspect in copper wire theft
We are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who is believed to have taken copper wire from a high school in the city’s southeast. On Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at approximately 6:35 p.m., a man was captured on CCTV unlawfully taking copper wire from Forest Lawn High School, located at 1304 44 St. S.E. It is believed the suspect cut and removed wiring connected to light standards and vehicle plug-ins on the property before fleeing the area on a bicycle. We are now asking the public to help identify the suspect. He is described as between 50 and 55 years old, approximately 5’7” tall, approximately 150 pounds, with grey hair and a goatee. The suspect has a tattoo on his right forearm and another on his upper-left arm. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a white design on the front, a black T-shirt, a yellow high-visibility vest, black pants and black shoes. He was also carrying a black backpack and riding a black bicycle at the time of the incident.
