Two youth charged following electric dirt bike chase

Two male youth are facing several charges after fleeing from police on electric dirt bikes. Shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug.18, 2026, police responded to reports of three people performing stunts and operating electric dirt bikes dangerously in the southwest community of Coach Hill. Officers attempted to stop the three riders, however they fled from police. HAWCS assisted in tracking the three bikes as the riders continued to evade police, dangerously driving through residential neighbourhoods. Two of the riders were ultimately arrested. Both are now facing charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle and flight from police, under the Criminal Code of Canada. Calgarians should be aware that electric dirt bikes cannot legally be operated on public roads, sidewalks, pathways or parks and that operating any vehicle in a careless or dangerous manner has consequences.
