Projeto prevê dedução de despesas com cães e gatos no Imposto de Renda

Projeto de lei apresentado recentemente permitiria a dedução do Imposto de Renda de despesas com consultas, tratamentos e exames veterinários de cães e gatos. Do senador Plínio Valério (PSDB-AM), o PL 5.668/2026 prevê o abatimento das despesas da base de cálculo do IR até o limite anual de R$ 2.275,08, valor previsto para a dedução de despesas com dependentes. A dedução poderá incluir pagamentos a médicos-veterinários, clínicas e hospitais veterinários, além de exames laboratoriais, serviços radiológicos, aparelhos ortopédicos e próteses. Para deduzir os gastos com aparelhos e próteses ortopédicas, será necessário apresentar receituário médico-veterinário e nota fiscal em nome do beneficiário. Despesas reembolsadas por entidades ou cobertas por contratos de seguro não poderão ser deduzidas. Pelo texto, o benefício será restrito aos tutores de animais domésticos de companhia ou estimação registrados no Cadastro Nacional de Animais Domésticos (SinPatinhas). Como o sistema permite atualmente o registro apenas de cães e gatos, a dedução beneficiaria inicialmente os tutores dessas espécies.
