Acordo de cooperação militar entre Brasil e Guiana vai à promulgação

O Plenário aprovou nesta terça-feira (3), em votação simbólica, o texto do acordo de cooperação militar entre Brasil e Guiana assinado em Bonfim (RR) em 2009. O acordo facilita ações na fronteira entre os dois países e no combate a crimes transnacionais. O Projeto de Decreto Legislativo (PDS) 240/2011, relatado pelo senador Chico Rodrigues (PSB-RR), será encaminhado à promulgação. Os objetivos do acordo são: promover a cooperação em assuntos relativos à defesa e partilhar conhecimentos e experiências adquiridas nesse domínio; compartilhar conhecimentos nas áreas de ciência e tecnologia; promover ações conjuntas de treinamento e instrução militar; colaborar em assuntos relacionados a equipamento e sistemas militares; cooperar em outras áreas no domínio da defesa que sejam de interesse mútuo; promover a cooperação no combate ao crime e operações especiais; e promover o intercâmbio de inteligência para combater os crimes transnacionais.
