Os mais de 33,4 milhões de eleitores que não compareceram às urnas no primeiro turno das eleições, realizado no último domingo (4), poderão votar normalmente no segundo turno, marcado para 25 de outubro. Isso porque, segundo o Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE), cada turno é considerado uma eleição independente. Assim, a ausência na primeira etapa da votação não impede a participação na segunda, desde que o eleitor esteja em situação regular com a Justiça Eleitoral, ou seja, com o título eleitoral não cancelado nem suspenso. No primeiro turno, cerca de 125,2 milhões de brasileiros compareceram às urnas, o equivalente a quase 79% dos mais de 158,7 milhões de eleitores aptos a votar. No dia 25 de outubro, os eleitores de todo o país voltarão às urnas para escolher o presidente da República. Também haverá segundo turno para governador em seis estados e no Distrito Federal: Acre, Amazonas, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte e Tocantins.
