The three and four-bedroom homes were co-designed in partnership with the Angurugu community and the Anindilyakwa Land Council. The houses were built by local First Nations not-for-profit Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises (GEBIE), boosting the local economy and strengthening employment opportunities for the community. The houses are part of the $4 billion Northern Territory Remote Housing Agreement, jointly funded by the Albanese and Finocchiaro Governments and delivered in partnership with Northern Territory Land Councils and Aboriginal Housing NT.
