The Endometriosis Management Plan, developed by Monash University, is the first practical tool of its kind designed for use across Australia. It supports clearer conversations between patients and clinicians about symptoms, treatment options, patient goals, flare-up planning, referrals and ongoing review arrangements. Endometriosis affects around one in seven girls, women and people assigned female at birth in Australia. It can be painful, debilitating and difficult to diagnose, with many women waiting years between experiencing symptoms and receiving a diagnosis. The plan supports shared decision-making by helping patients and clinicians work together to develop personalised care plans and navigate treatment options. It is designed to support more consistent care across general practice and specialised clinic settings.
