Kenya: The Responsibility of the Commission

The commissioning of Specialist and Special Duty Officers in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) marks the convergence of professional expertise, military experience and a renewed responsibility to lead and serve. This important transition was marked during the Specialist and Special Duty Officer Cadets Intake 01/26 Commissioning Parade at the Kenya Military Academy (KMA), Lanet, presided over by the Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri. The newly commissioned officers bring to the commissioned ranks diverse professional expertise and years of military experience. Their Commission now places upon them the responsibility to translate that knowledge and experience into sound judgement, effective leadership and meaningful service to the Kenya Defence Forces and the Republic of Kenya.
