Tunisia’s assumption of the Chairmanship of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Ministerial Level

Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, chaired today, 7 September 2026, the proceedings of the 166th Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Ministerial Level. At the outset of his address, the Minister reviewed the main issues and challenges facing the Arab region, stressing that Tunisia’s assumption of the Chairmanship of the Council at the Ministerial Level, at this critical juncture, represents a national responsibility that Tunisia is committed to using to strengthen Arab solidarity, bridge differences, unify positions and advance joint Arab action towards greater effectiveness. In this regard, he affirmed that security and stability cannot be achieved in the region unless the Palestinian people are able to recover all their legitimate rights.
