Anchored in Mobile, Impact Across the Americas: Julie Walton Retires After 34 Years of Dedicated Service
MOBILE, Ala. — For 34 years, one constant inside the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District has been the steady, dedicated leadership of Julie Walton. While her roots remained firmly planted along the banks of Mobile Bay for more than three decades, her professional footprint spanned high-stakes national defense initiatives and an entire hemisphere of international cooperation. Surrounded by colleagues, and leadership during her recent retirement ceremony at the Mobile District headquarters, Walton, the OCONUS IIS Branch Chief and the Latin America Program Manager, officially brought a distinguished 34-year federal civil service career to a close. Highlighting the ceremony was the presentation of the prestigious Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal—one of the highest honors in the Army Engineer Regiment—recognizing her enduring contributions to USACE, national defense, and international partner nations.
