Consolidation of Instructions Related to Priority Sector Lending – Drafts for Comments
As part of the ongoing effort towards consolidation of various instructions issued from time to time, the Reserve Bank has undertaken a review of the extant guidelines relating to Priority Sector Lending (PSL) and proposes to issue Directions on the subject RE-wise. 2. Accordingly, the following draft Directions are being placed on the website for public comments: Reserve Bank of India (Commercial Banks – Priority Sector Lending – Targets and Classification) Directions, 2026 Reserve Bank of India (Small Finance Banks – Priority Sector Lending – Targets and Classification) Directions, 2026 Reserve Bank of India (Local Area Banks – Priority Sector Lending – Targets and Classification) Directions, 2026 Reserve Bank of India (Regional Rural Banks – Priority Sector Lending – Targets and Classification) Directions, 2026 Reserve Bank of India (Urban Co-operative Banks – Priority Sector Lending – Targets and Classification) Directions, 2026 3. Further, instructions which have not been included in the consolidated draft Directions would be repealed consequent to the issuance of the Directions. The same will be notified separately. 4.
