Govt rejects biased report
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has condemned the European Parliament’s Recommendation on EU-China political relations for making biased and untrue slanders in the section concerning Hong Kong. In a statement, the Hong Kong SAR Government expressed firm opposition to and strong dissatisfaction with those biases against the city. It strongly urged the European Parliament to immediately stop its slanders, cease issuing narratives that distort facts and spread alarm, and discontinue interfering in Hong Kong affairs, which are purely China’s internal affairs. The statement stressed that the Hong Kong SAR is an inalienable part of the People’s Republic of China, enjoying a high degree of autonomy under “one country, two systems” directly under the central government. The Hong Kong SAR Government added that it will resolutely, fully and faithfully implement the Hong Kong National Security Law (HKNSL), the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance (SNSO) and other relevant laws to prevent, suppress and impose punishment for acts and activities that endanger national security.
