Meeting of the interministerial committee for policies to support the elderly
A meeting of the interministerial committee for policies to support the elderly (‘Comitato interministeriale per le politiche in favore della popolazione anziana’, ‘CIPA’) was held at Palazzo Chigi today. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policies Maria Teresa Bellucci, was attended by Minister of Labour and Social Policies Marina Calderone and representatives from all ministries and administrations involved. The Committee approved the first national plan for the care of vulnerable and non-self-sufficient elderly people. The aim of this measure is to enhance home care, simplify access to services and increase the number of health and social care professionals, with the goal of putting the focus on elderly individuals and their right to receive appropriate care and assistance. More than EUR 1.5 billion has been allocated to the Plan for the 2025-2027 three-year period, drawn from the National Fund for Non-Self-Sufficient People.
