North West Agriculture host World Food Day Commemoration, 16 Oct Vuyelwa Tue, 10/13/2026 - 14:34 13 Oct 2026 The National Department of Agriculture, in partnership with the North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), invite members of the media to attend and cover the 2026 World Food Day Commemoration to be held in Tosca Village, Kagisano-Molopo Local Municipality, on 16 October 2026. The Minister of Agriculture, Willie Aucamp and the North West Member of Executive Council (MEC) for Agriculture and Rural Development, Madoda Sambatha, will lead proceedings at the World Food Day Commemoration. This year's commemoration is held under the theme: "Innovate Today. Nourish Tomorrow." The event will bring together government leaders, farmers, community members, development partners and other stakeholders to reflect on the importance of food security and the role that innovation can play in improving agricultural production and strengthening food systems.
