Marine Corps Judge Advocate Returns to Mizzou During Homecoming Week to Judge Opening Statements Competition
During the University of Missouri’s Homecoming celebrations, Marine Corps Officer Selection Team Springfield partnered with Mizzou Law to host an opening statements competition to connect with future legal professionals and showcase opportunities available as a Marine Corps judge advocate. The event was highlighted by the return of Mizzou alumnus and active-duty Marine judge advocate Capt. Jeffrey Johnson, who briefed students on military jurisprudence and evaluated the competition. Marine Corps veteran and second-year law student Chase Boggs won the event, demonstrating how military service and legal education combine to build highly persuasive advocates.
