Humble roots, lasting legacy
Among the items displayed in Reginald McFadden’s office at Anniston Army Depot is a photograph of a modest house in Lakeland, Georgia. It is more than just a photograph of one of the many places where he may have lived during his life. It is the house where McFadden, ANAD’s administrative officer, spent his first seven years. The home had running water and sinks, but no indoor restroom. For McFadden, the photograph serves as a reminder of where his journey began. “I keep it there to remind me and keep me humble,” McFadden said.
